Bible Scribes

What is a ‘scribe?

One description of a scribe is a person who makes copies of the ancient writings for the Government and Priests.

Could it be the Churches would want to make changes, so the people would do as they believed they should?

And for the Government, they might  want the writings to be understood in favor of the  Government,  in order to control the people easier.

Copying manuscripts of the Old Testament in the original Hebrew language as originated by the Scribes long, long, before Jesus.

Pope Damascus, way back in 382, had the entire Bible translated into Latin by St. Jerome. As Jerome read the texts he like any of the translators, would have interpreted them from his/their  state of beliefs. It is Jerome’s Latin translation of the Bible that is said to be the official version of the Bible accepted by the Catholic Church.

The King James Version was translated by 54 men who used all the older versions along with the original manuscripts, and each decided on how he believed the passages should read. There have been over 300 corrections since the 1613 version of the King James Version. What does that tell you? Just imagine it is you who has to translate old manuscripts, would you not choose what words and the passages meant to you?

Maybe that is WHY Jeremiah said

About babarahs

I was born with an Inquiring Mind and I love all things weird. Weird like UFO'S-Mysticism-Ancient Beings-Really ODD stuff found in the Bible. I do not believe in the reality that has been handed down to me. I believe there is only one Reality....Consciousness. I was also born with a great spiritual desire ...which does NOT include any religion or their beliefs.
