Zeal and Knowledge

King Solomon told us, ‘It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way.’ Hosea told us, ‘My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.’

Paul said,  ‘For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.’ What  ‘zeal’ did they mean?  And what ‘knowledge’  did they think we  lacked or needed?

Paul also said,  ‘For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.’  And he said,For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;’

Did you get your ‘knowledge’ from the Spirit? Or did you get it from a Book? Or from your Church?  No matter how you got what you call ‘knowledge,’ it is NOT real ‘knowledge…‘ if it didn’t come from the Spirit.  Oh wait…do you know where  the Spirit is? Do you know what the ‘spirit’ is? And…  do you understand what ‘knowledge’ is?

Did you ever do some investigating to find out? Or…did you read the passage and move on? Like most people do.  Come on lets see what we can find, but remember, there’s always more to a word than the simple. You must dig deep and go to the end.

dedective28 Lets find out whats going on.

First, let’s look at the word, ‘zeal.’ Wow, this is a meaning. ‘Extreme or fanatical as in a religious movement.’

Isn’t that true? Don’t all religious movements have kind of ‘rules,’ laws,’ that you must follow. Aren’t you suppose to think like you have been taught by your church? Haven’t they convinced you THEY are the only way to God? And once convinced, do you then not have ‘zeal? From what THEY taught you?

We have more than enough of these.

Solomon said, Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.’ Foolish means, ‘unwise.’ Who are the ‘unwise? You will have to decide that.  But just maybe it would be ‘wise; to  ‘forsake all you have been taught’ and do as Isaiah suggests, and…
‘ Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted.’

When Solomon said, ‘Go in the way of understanding,’  what did he mean? Well if he used this meaning for understanding , which is to, ‘interpret,’ could he have meant that you should ‘forsake’ the handed down meanings for words and go ‘interpret’ them from your own ‘inner being?

Now lets look at the word, ‘knowledge.‘ Knowledge’ means, ‘facts, truths from investigation.’

That’s my point. YOU, have to investigate what words mean. Succeed - Free High Resolution Photo of a Dictionary Entry for the word Succeed  You have to choose and ‘interpret’ the meanings instead of just accepting the meanings your Church has chosen as the true meaning. YOU should decide and you can let God show you.

Solomon told you to  ‘….seek  (understanding)  like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures’…. then you will  find the knowledge of God.’  Proverbs 2:2-5

Remember, ‘knowledge’ means, ‘facts and truths, (from your) investigation.’ YOUR investigation.

Guess the message they were telling us is, forget everything you have been ‘taught’ from the ‘unwise’ and go investigate and get the real, facts and truths,  from (your)  investigation.’

YOUR investigation.

Guess the message they were telling us is, forget everything you have been ‘taught’ from the ‘unwise’ and go investigate and get the real, facts and truths,  from (your)  investigation.’

y? Because the ‘spirit’ can ONLY be found ‘within you.’ And that ‘spirit within you’ is the only way for you to get ‘knowledge and understanding.’

About babarahs

I was born with an Inquiring Mind and I love all things weird. Weird like UFO'S-Mysticism-Ancient Beings-Really ODD stuff found in the Bible. I do not believe in the reality that has been handed down to me. I believe there is only one Reality....Consciousness. I was also born with a great spiritual desire ...which does NOT include any religion or their beliefs.

One response to “Zeal and Knowledge

  1. This is what the first terrorists did: they thought freely and took knowledge and interpretation into their own hands. Look how they turned out.

Studying scripture is just like studying math or science. We can’t go around telling people to understand physics the way they want to and then hire them into NASA. Certainly knowledge is available to everyone, but only with hard work and diligence, especially if we’re placing them in positions of importance. Free-thinking is great and all, but it can get out of hand. Hence the terrorists.
