What’s In Your Bible

There were many translations of the Bible centuries before the English version. Today there are over 450 versions of the Bible. Think about that, 450 different versions of The Bible. Wow. So how are you to know which one is the closest to the original?

I bet in most cases people believe the version of the Bible they grew up with. Strange how people take what they are taught by others and swear it is the truth. The question is though, how do you know your version of the 45o versions of the Bible is the correct one? You don’t.

Lets look at some of the very weird stuff you can find in the most popular Christian version, that of King James. Really take the time to think about these sayings found in the Bible. How many make sense? Not a lot,  that’s for sure.   The Bible, the  book you are to use as a  guide you through life.  I’m telling you, it’s WEIRD. Really a weird book. Why?

Why because……The Bible tell you to KILL others.   Kill your Own Family

If your own full brother,  or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12)
th“We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD, when actually the  lying pen of the scribes  has handled it falsely?’

So why would God created evil? Weird.

Did you know God sleeps  and maybe drinks wine, just like man does ?  Me neither.  But what else could this passage mean?

WFjbOb1441132088

It leads one to believe GOD gets drunk and GOD has to sleep.Well…isn’t that what it reads? God isn’t  suppose to sleep or drink? Is He? Kind of sounds like a regular man to me.

Did you know you are suppose to be happy when you hurt kids?
free_6929331      “Happy shall he be, that takes and dashes thy little ones against the stones.” Would that make you happy?

If you didn’t know that your God created evil, and your God needs to sleep and maybe drink wine or that He wants you to be happy hurting little kids....what else might not know about your God?

You should try reading your Bible from beginning to end and see the MANY, MANY weird things you will find…and then you too may decide that YOU will do your own

1333284978YR9cq4      and  research and come up with what makes sense to you about the writings,  and not based on the handed down ones from an ancient past.

So…   You decide what the meanings should be.  HOW?

23715-truth   By finding your own meanings for words. Meanings that you choose and not someone else’s  interpretation of the word. Try it…it really makes the Bible passages a lot easier to understand.

The Bible

bible   difog.wordpress.com

The Bible started out as orally told stories and these ancient stories were passed down from generation to generation.

It took about 1600 years from beginning to end, to become the Bible. It contains 66 small books all written in Greek by 40 men, with about 500 years between the Old Testament and the New Testament. That then tells you the Bible contains at least 40 different mens personal beliefs and opinions, based on how they were raised and taught. And then it was then the Early Church who made decisions about which writings should be included in the Bible.

It is said that there are 39 books in the Old Testament and that St. Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria   was the first to list the twenty-seven books of the New Testament.

There were many translations of the Bible centuries before the English version. These gospels could and did change over time due to the many translators and some of the changes made, were both intentional and accidental.

330px-Saintdamasus Pope Damascus,  way back in 382, had

the entire Bible  translated into Latin by St. Jerome.

It  is believed to have taken him twenty years to complete.  As Jerome read texts he would have interpreted them from his state of beliefs. It is Jerome’s Latin translation of the Bible that is said to be the official version of the Bible accepted by the Catholic Church.

The oldest written parts of the Bible found were transcribed in three languages. Once the Roman Empire became Christianized and Latin become the common language, the entire Bible was translated into Latin.

The translations of the Bible were made from the Latin Vulgate rather than the original Hebrew and Greek languages and they were all edited by those doing the translations. By the late fourth century, the 27 books we now have had been generally accepted.

It was then the early church who made decisions about which writings should be included in the Bible and thus the Bible became a collection of books written by various authors over hundreds of years. Old Testament was written in Hebrew. The New Testament was first written in Greek.

Just imagine it is you who has to translate old manuscripts…would you not choose what words meant to you? Would you not kind of slip in your beliefs and opinions of what you thought the words meant? As Jerome read texts he would have interpreted them from his state of beliefs. His concept of what the words meant, and since there are many

are different    meanings for most words, how would he know what the original writer meant?   He wouldn’t.

The purpose of the King James Version was intended to make a good Bible a better one. The King James Version was translated by 54 men who used all the older versions along with the original manuscripts and each decided on how he believed the words to mean. There have been over 300 corrections since the 1613 version of the King James Version. What does that tell you?

https://i2.wp.com/i-heart-god.com/images/preacher3.jpg Most people today have not read much of the Bible and they tend to go along with the popular delusion that the Bible is 100 per cent true, based on what they are told.

But how can you be sure it is all so true if we do not have the original writings, writings that started out as oral stories that had been passed down orally for generations before it was ever written, which means that even if we had the original writings, they would not be the original words from original story teller, but only what was thought to be original from the oral stories.

What if the men who wrote, no, the men who translated the texts were wrong in their understanding of what the original story tellers meant all those generations before them?  How will anyone ever know the original meanings of the ones who originally told the stories? Oh…I forgot, its the Bible and its all true… and if you question it, you are a terrible sinner. Well, I guess I am a sinner because I do question a lot of the stuff in it…just wait until you see all the post I will have of Bible Weirdness.

What if the men who wrote, no, who translated the texts were wrong in their understanding of what the original story tellers meant all those generations before? How will anyone ever know the original meanings of the ones who originally told the stories? How do we know what the Bible originally said? We don’t. Period

It just makes sense that it would have to have been distorted to some degree due to being translated    over and over and over. Don’t you think? Or do you think about who actually wrote it?

So, do you think that there is a possibility that just maybe…Maybe the stories slowly changed from the original told stories?

Since there are not any original  manuscripts of the Bible, only copies of copies, we will never know. But we do know that if you tell someone something and tell another, and another, pretty soon you do not have the original saying.

Most modern Bible translations were made by committees of scholars and the translations are sometimes made by individuals. And when the words were unreadable, they were filled in according to what the translator believed it should read.

The Bible is weird. With it having so much weirdness, you should be the one who decides what makes sense to YOU. Just because you have been taught to believe the handed down opinions and beliefs of those before you that the Bible is Gods word and factual….DOES NOT MAKE IT SO.

Go back and see all the Bible weirdness, because the Bible is weird. With it having so much weirdness, you should be the one who decides what makes sense to YOU …Just because you have been taught to believe the handed down opinions beliefs of those before you…does not make them true.
